Kizhi/Potli
A Warm Hug for Your Body with Healing Herbs
Kizhi, also known as Potli Massage, is one of Ayurveda’s most comforting and therapeutic treatments. It involves using small warm bundles (called kizhis or potlis) filled with healing ingredients like herbs, medicinal leaves, or special rice, depending on your body’s needs.
These bundles are gently heated and massaged over the body in soothing strokes. The warmth helps your muscles relax, improves circulation, and lets the healing properties of the herbs sink deep into your tissues.
At AyurGlow, we offer three beautiful variations of this therapy, each with its own special benefits:
Ela Kizhi (Pathrapotala Swedana)
A massage using herbal leaves like neem, tamarind, and castor, dipped in medicated oils. Best for joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation — especially great for people with arthritis or back pain.
Navara Kizhi (Herbal Rice Bowl Massage)
A deeply nourishing massage with a special Ayurvedic rice called Navara, cooked in milk and herbal decoctions. Ideal for muscle weakness, dryness, skin rejuvenation, and post-illness recovery.
Podikizhi (Choorna Swedana)
A stimulating massage with dry herbal powders that help reduce pain, swelling, and toxins. Great for people with rheumatic conditions, obesity, or a sedentary lifestyle.
Feel the Difference:
Whether you’re looking to ease pain, nourish your body, or just unwind with nature’s touch — Kizhi therapy is a perfect blend of ancient wisdom and modern comfort.
